Queen Elizabeth II Passes

The Queen of England passed away at her beloved castle in Balmoral, Scotland on Sept. 8, 2022. I was watching CNN as the news broke that she had requested her family to come to her bedside. I, like most, knew it was only a matter of hours till she passed.

We were all right, I’ve spent the last four days watching all the events, pageantry, pomp and circumstance unfold. I’ve always been interested in the monarchy and, as this was history in the making, I felt it was time well invested. I made a few videos in the last few days on my YouTube channel, Be Fantastic, and I may make more. I learned a lot these past few days. Her 70-year monarchy saw 7 popes, 15 presidents, and many prime ministers. She traveled the globe meeting most heads of state. At 21, in Kenya, she went up a treehouse hotel as a princess and came down a queen as her father had passed away that night. This occurrence taught the royals to always travel with a black suit or dress in case of a death in the family.

The history of the monarch is very old and steeped in tradition, so many ceremonies and actions have to occur when passing the crown. Her initials are ER. Now on all military uniforms and around the country, everything will be changed to CR. The bank notes will change to have the king’s picture. This is a monumental occasion in history. I’m lucky that I’m retired and have the time to witness these amazing events, the first time in history they are broadcast to the world live. 99% of humans were born during her monarchy. What a fact! She was noted as the most photographed person in history. She dedicated her life to serving her country, and she did a fantastic job. I can’t imagine someone experiencing life as she did. Being a royal must be an incredible experience. I hope she rests in peace. She deserves some peace.
